3 months today

Happy 3rd month, my little love!

They say it gets easier by the third month, I believe it. Other than her sleeping habits changing-she's been sleeping longer-as a parent you find your rhythm as well. It has gotten easier in the sense that I've gotten more used to my baby, to having her. I'm more prepared mentally and emotionally compared to the first day she arrived (hot mess). I now know her more too, I can differentiate the hungry cry from the pee-pee cry and so on and so forth. There's definitely more to learn but I'm also now more excited than anxious, so yay for Belle, stay happy and awesome, daddy and I love you so much!

I've been taking polaroid pictures of Belle every 25th of the month (she was born July 25, 2011).

Always bring back-up

Since becoming a mom I've been given a massive amount of advices that I now feel the need to write down. Not everything might be relevant or helpful to me at the moment but it might be for other new moms and moms to be. So hopefully my blog will one day reach you all.

Let me start with one of the BEST advices that someone has ever given me regarding mommyhood: ALWAYS BRING BACK-UP... everything. From diapers to changing pads to clothes I now always make sure I have more than one of everything. You never know when the next diaper  blow up or throw-up will be and sometimes it even comes while changing. So, always bring extra even for you because some blow-ups don't just mess up the little one's clothes it can easily get to your's too.

While taking her photos in the pink dress she did have a blow up, hence the new dress in the last picture. Either way she still looked adorable at the dinner party :)

Taste the Rainbow

I have phases with graphic shirts, here's one of my favorites that I got from a bazaar back in Manila. My obsession with them is never stable.. but I do obsess on them and I believe it's back. Even for  baby shirts now, I keep browsing online for cute graphic shirts for Belle. Any suggestions?

Mommy's turn

I get to dress up again. yay! My friends have been encouraging me to do my own outfit post and I finally caved. So, here's the first of many!

Fall has finally hit the bay and as I've said before I LOVE fall colors. Those dark, rich, yummy berry shades, the super cool navy and of course my favorite highlight for every fall season, camel. However, we should never close our doors to just these colors, I've recently noticed a brighter trend coming into this season and I am loving this change. It's a great contrast against a dark and gloomy weather. So don't be a afraid to add a pop of color onto your wardrobe this fall.

We almost had a major problem 2 days ago.. I couldn't decide what outfit to put her in for Aubrey's (http://www.littlebabyspicer.com/) baptism luncheon. Every dress we had was for 6-9 months already, nothing I wanted her to wear fit, yet another reason to shop. Except for this one adorable romper from Gingersnaps that I bought last March when we went home, it was too cute and thank the heavens, it fit her perfectly!

This is easily one of my favorites.

Velcro vs. Buttons

We took on the challenge of cloth diapering 2 months ago and we've finally mastered the technique. Trust us, it'll take awhile, however don't get us wrong we still use disposable diapers for when we go out. Now, other than the cloth diapers, which we receive every week from the diaper service Tiny Tots, we also needed to get cloth diaper shells or cloth diaper covers and because we're new to this we decided to try out 2 kinds and of course more than one color.  So, velcro or buttons? from this family you will hear a loud, resounding VELCRO. They both work well but changing her is faster when all you have to do is rip off the velcro and stick it back on. Also, I suggest buying 3-4 covers, because when the poop leaks from the cloth diapers you'll have to wash the cover and use a new one while it dries.

Baby update: She can lift her head higher now and for longer periods of time. Yay Belle!
